Customer Question

I have a 2004 Range Rover that the navigation system the ecu and the radio has gone bad due to rain water that leaked from the sunroof into the trunks navi unit cabin.
I found out that your supposed to blow out the sunroof for clogged gutters every six months or get a water shedder which I don't have. I was a little too late. Is there a way to get my radio back without having to buy all the expensive ECU units about 1300 and the DVD navi system MKIV for Range Rovers which is about 900? Is there something I can buy that will make just the radio work until I have money to save up for the Navigation system?

Optional Information:
Year: 2004
Make: LandRover
Make (other): Range Rover
Model: HSE
Engine: V8

Already Tried:
Took it to Range Rover but they want a mint and a half. I want to see if there is any way to get the radio back without having to buy all three items ECU NAv Unit and the CD Player Radio. The console lights up but the land rover sign is gone.

jagmaster :

Unfortunatly, in your vehicle everything is networked together in the infotainment system. You are pretty much forced to replace all the units that got wet. You should have the dealer install the water shedder for sure. That seems to be a permanent fix. Just so you know, you will also have to purchase new modules as those are specific to the VIN of the vehicle.

Customer :

Thank you so much. That was pretty much what I have been told. I guess it's time to start counting my piggy bank. Thanks again!! Best KIa
