use eight 3157 white LED bulbs in recycled taillight sockets..polarity

Resolved Question:

I want to use eight 3157 white LED bulbs in recycled taillight sockets for a battery operated work light. Other than correct polarity are there any other considerations for this idea?

Hello I will help you with your question,

Not a problem as long as you wire them in parallel.

All the current limiting circuitry is built into the base of the lamps so this is plug and play.

These draw between .065 and .080 amps so eight would draw less than 7 amps. A 7.5 amp inline fuse would handle this nicely. A 600 CCA battery fully charged would power this for about 10 hours

Let me know what I can do to help you with this

Thank you
