Chevy: Hi. I have a 1981 Motor Test due to an Idol

Resolved Question:

I have a 1981 Motor Home that is powered by a Chevy 350 CI Power Plant and it just flunked the Smog Test due to an Idol Speed HC. The Results was 1241. Additional Informatio is as follows. Greater Than 1000 Parts Per Million.
Question: What will I have to do to lower the Parts Per Million enough to pass a smog test?
Thank you.

High HC is unburned fuel. A tune up might do it, but I would also replace the plug wires and advance the timing to maximum within spec limits and adjust idle mixture screws to get the best vacuum reading possible.
