2004 mazda 6: 3.0 litre automatic..cooling fan..sitting

This answer was rated:

We have a 2004 mazda 6, 3.0 litre automatic. The engine cooling fan seems to be on way to much, It comes on as soon as you start the car after sitting all night, it is on while driving, it even turns on and off a few times after shutting off the car. Air conditioning and defrost can be on or off - makes no difference. We checked with a sun reader and there are no codes on this vehicle. What do you think is the problem?
Thanks for visiting Just Answer,
Mazda did a recall on the fans on this vehicle. I would advise contacting the dealer to see if you qualify.
Mazda has recalled the cooling fan control modules as per SSP-60. The fans can either stop working altogether, or may stay running all the time. In either case the fan control module should be replaced for free as part of the recall.
