2006 Chevrolet Impala: cut the car off from a drive home from work.

Customer Question

Ok I have a 2006 Chevrolet Impala. I got out of my car and attempted to lock it with the remote lock. I had just cut the car off from a drive home from work. The car ran fine as I drove home and started fine when I started it after work. It has not had any problems that I know of recently.

So anyways the automatic lock wouldn't work so I decided to go back in the car and try to start the car to see if it had any power. I put the key in the ignition and tried to start the car. The car did not make a sound but it locked my key into place. Now I can not remove the key I can not change gears the car doesn't have any power. How do I start my car and remove the stupid key. Thank you for your time and help.

Make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. Sounds like the batttery died on you . You need to check that first when you get access to your hood area.
