2003 Oldsmobile Alero: unwanted acceleration.The auto..L..automatic

Please help,Ihave a very dangerous problem,---unwanted acceleration.The auto is a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero 3.4 L,automatic ,all power.The problem starts very slowly and is exceptionaly bad in hot weather,the engine keeps reving higher and higher,and becomes a dangerous situation especially in stop and go traffic,sometimes im able to kick the pedal and it will come off, but then it will come right back?????

Most likely the idle air control valve needs replaced. Below is a diagram showing it's location. Remove the 2 bolts to remove valve.
