1991 mazda 626: cam gear..one of the numers is the timing mark

Resolved Question:

im trying to reinstall the cam gear on my 1991 mazda 626 but the cam has a dowel pin and the gear has four holes and numbers 1 2 3 and 4 with arrows. i need to know which hole the dowel pin goes in to install the gear and which or if one of the numers is the timing mark?

Please give me just a minute and I will post a diagram of the timming marks for you and where the cam gear is set.

Customer:

The dowel pin has to go into the hole for the #1 mark on the gear.

JAMIE :

I need just a couple more seconds to get the diagrams posted.

JAMIE :

There are the timing marks to set it back in place. Make sure to turn the engine over two revolutions at the crank to make sure the ti,img marks all line up agian before you put the timing cover back on.
