WElcome. HAve you checked or changed the cap, rotor or the fuel filter? Any of these will cause a misfire
no cap and rotor had fuel filter done 3000 miles ago
Sorry, 4.2 not 4.3. OK, does it seem to be on one cylinder or more than one?
seems like posible more than 1
THese engines were very bad for leaking intake valves and seats. the fix is to replace the cylinder head. This is found by a cylinder leakage test. Anything more than 25% is too much.
Before going that far, make sure it is not the coil packs. Swap them around to see if the misfire changes cylinders.
how do you test coil packs
Honestly, they are best to swap it to a differente cylinder and see if the misfire follows.
ok any other possibiliteis u can think of cause this thing has drove me nuts for 3 days
There are a number of things, but these are the most common.
