inside or next to transmission ,have problems with the gear going in ,it is manual

Ok the one you use your hand to change gear is called a shifter rod some have other names for it.
Check and see if you still have problems selecting gear with the clutch pressed and engine off.

yes I do ,reverse and 5 does not go in at all

I don't think its the shifter that giving you this problem but the linkage for the shifter
Like in the diagram below marked in red rings is the typical parts that wear out and need replacing these part will make it hard to select gears .
