where are the timing marks for a mazda tribute 2006 4 Cylinder?
hello, what marks do you refer to? the timing for ignition or the timimng marks for the timing chain?
i mean the timing marks for the timing chain, there are two chains, one that goes to oil pump and the other to chamshaft. how do i alligne them? I changed the valves and the headgasket so i need to put everything together. I can't find any instruction on all data and other repairbooks. Can you please help me. Thanks!
The timing chain install does not use marks. Fo the main chain, you have to use 2 special tools. there is a plug on side of engine in which you insert a stub plug to use as internal stopper. the camms are aligned with usuing a plate tool on back of cams where there are 2 slots at the back end of each cam in which the tool slips into and holds the cams. the small chian is the oil pump chain and does not get timed. It only drives oil pump. If you have access to alldata , look up 2004 Mazda 6 2.3 and the full instructions are there and the same. I put directions below but the pics will time out after awile. I will not be back till a little later to resend the pics if they time out thus why you need to look up 2004 Mazda 6 2.3 on your end so you have the instructions. Unsure how you are going to do without special tools. You can find a metal plate and slip in the back of cams to make slot parallel and as far as the plu on side of engine? you will have to take out the plug there and insert a drill bit about same size as the opeing hole to use to stop the crank in correct postion
