2002 Isuzu axiom: my timing belt..timing marks..rotated..crankshaft

This answer was rated:

Timing Belt Question
I have a 2002 Isuzu Axiom
I cannot get my timing belt to align, I have made sure all 3 timing marks are alligned, rotated the crankshaft 4 times, and they still do not align.
There are 2 of us holding the belt in place to make sure everything lines up.

GreetingsCustomerand welcome to JA! I will do my very best to assist you with your problem.

Are you saying the marks on the belt won't line up or the marks on the cams and cranks aren't lining up?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
the marks on the cam and crank are not lining up with the valve cover mark.
Ok,I have never done one so I am going to open it up to the other experts. I thought maybe you were having a problem with the lines on the belt. Please don't reply or the question will be locked to me and they won't be able to respond.

should the timing marks on the pully and belt line up with valve cover timing mark?... we rotated 6 times and our timing marks line up with the belt and valve cover, but not the pully timing marks. are we in time?
Once you are happy that the belt and sprocket are lined up that is all you have to do, but the top cam and crank pulley must line up every complete cycle,
regardless of belt position .
Need more assistance please let me know.

"every complete cycle"

is that 3 turns?

1 complete cycle of the crankshaft is two of the camshaft
so every complete cycle of the crankshaft.
Need more assistance please let me know.
