1996 Oldsmobile Bravada: 4.3L..Ignition Module..there is power going

Customer Question

I have a 1996 Oldsmobile Bravada that has no spark coming from the coil. The coil is a known working coil, tested on another 4.3L engine, and the Ignition Module has been tested on another vehicle as well.

Battery is fully charged, there is power going to the coil and module with the key on. All of the fuseable links are fine, and no sensors seem to be unhooked or having broken wires. I'm stuck as to what to do to further diagnose the no spark condition.

Additonal information: 96 Bravada, 4.3L Vortec, AWD, Automatic.

Has New: Cap, Rotor, Coil, Plugs, Wires, and recently replaced the TPS when it went bad.

What are my options for further diagnosis with limited tools?

Hello and thank you for using Just Answer

are you getting rpm/tach signal while cranking?

the crankshaft position sensor can cause a no spark if it is bad

let me know

The Tach in the vehicle does not move while cranking, is there any other way to check to see if there is signal while cranking?

The tach is a good indicator that the crankshaft position sensor is not working

you can also plug in a scan tool and monitor the engine RPM while cranking

you should get at least 200

let me know how you make out and if you need more help
