Change Transmission Fluid in 05 Hyundai Elantra

This answer was rated:

Can you give me a step-by-step procedure for changing the transmission fluid and filter in a Automatic 2005 Hyundai Elantra? I seem to have found a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission, but I'm not sure where the filter is, or where I should add new fluid.

hello welcome to the site.

the transmission does not need to have the filter serviced until a transmission rebuild.

my car won't move in any gear does that mean my transmission needs rebuilt or can the filter be my problem?

if the fluid is burnt then most likely their is internal damage.

how long has this been going on ,has the transmission been slipping ?

the transmission will need to be taken apart to replace the filter.

so a rebuild might be in order

about 3 days ago I started having problems it jerked hard a few times at different times..Then it would not move untill it go warm...Now it won't move at all

ok sounds like a failed transmission.

was the fluid burnt ?

you can try a transmission fluid change and see if this help's.
