HELLO,

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR SHIFT CABLE CAME OFF OF THE LINK AT THE TRANSAXLE - USUALLY THE SECURING MECHANISM FAILS OR THE LINK BREAKS OFF - IF YOU LOOK DOWN PAST YOUR AIR BOX ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, THERE SHOULD BE A ROD STICKING OUT OF THE TRANSAXLE WITH A CABLE NEAR IT - IF IT JUST POPPED OFF, YOU MAY BE ABLE TO JUST TEMPORARILY RESECURE IT TO GET IT TO THE DEALER. HERE IS A ROUGH PIC OF WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. THANKS, DAVE.

i cannot find the rod that should be sticking from the transaxle. any other way to find what you believe might be the problem?

LOOK FOR THE SHIFT CABLE COMING OUT OF THE BODY AT THE FIREWALL AND FOLLOW IT TO THE TRANS - IT IS A COMMON FAILURE FOR YOUR VEHICLE CONDITION. IT IS PRETTY FAR DOWN ON THE TRANS IN THE BACK BEHIND THE AIRBOX. THANKS, DAVE.
