I have a great test for you.
What I would like you to do is disconnect what is called a mass air flow sensor.
This will be a connector, located after the air filter, and will have three to five wires going into it.
Now attempt to start it. If it stays running the Mass Air Flow sensor must be replaced.
Let me know what you find.
