Our Olds Aurora runs hot and the cooling fans rarely go on if at all. Why?
hiCustomer mostlikely, your engine coolant temp sensor is faulty, the sensor is what tells the computer when to turn the fans on, if it is gummed up with old coolant grundge, it will become week, and can only turn it on if it gets extremely hot, you may also want to change the thermostat for good measure

Where are these two parts located?
I got a text that said you replied to my second question...where are the parts located on the car? But I don't see any answer on-line.
what year is this aurora?
1997
what size engine?
4.0L
here is the diagram with the location of the engine coolant temp sensor, the thermostat is located inside the coolant inlet pipe, to locate this, just follow the top hose that comes out of the radiator until it stops at the engine, inside that little housing will be where the thermostat is located,
