I have a 2003 sonata. I do not have a speedometer or odometer when the vehicle is in motion. I also do not have the shift position indicator lights on the dash, the vehicle seems to be stuck in second gear. I have changed the ECM and the transmission range sensor. origional problem was a P0705 check engine code, HELP...
Year: 2003Make: HyundaiModel: sonataEngine: 2.4 Already Tried: changed ECM and transmission range sensor. inspected wire bundles and general look at surounding parts. The vehicle had a water hose leak and it overheated awhile back, the water was directed under the aircleaner box.
Your transmission is in what is called "limp" mode. The reason for this is because the transmission computer has detected a fult in the system.
Since you have no speedometer reading, the most likely cause of all of this is going to be a failed output speed sensor on the transmission. This is on the outside of the transmission and is easily replaced.......they run around $80 I beleive.
