Hi! I can definetly help, and if you have another question about this topic, expect an answer no longer than twenty minutes from me. My name is XXXXX XXXXX am happy to help. First, I need some info from you. 1: Has this problem been going on ever sence you owned the vehicle? 2: How does your temp gauge read on the dash, does it start at cold, and then eventually get to the middle of the sweep, staying there while driving? This will help in my diagnosis extremly, let me know. Thanks Nick.
car run normal the tem goes up and down while i drive i have low tem thermostate close at 165 and open at 185F and this problem have just started so most likely its arround 165 or 175f the fan just started to do that i ahve also unplug the AC pressur switch becauuase one of your mechanic told me to try that
Great information, thank you. There is two A/C pressure switches that need to be unplugged to accomplish what was told to you earlier, to verify not an A/C problem, turn your A/C off and make sure your compressor is not running (the A/C compressor, in the front should be standing still) I think you have a stuck relay, on the switch side. Pull out your owners manual, look under index for fuses, then go down the lists to find out where your fan relay is, unplug it, then start your car. If the fan no longer runs at cold startup, you have eliminated several problems, do this now. Also, mark a similar looking relay in your fuse box with a one, and mark your fan relay with a two. Swap relays and check if your fan is cycling normally, if so, replace the relay marked with a two. I gaurentee this will fix your problem under the above circumstaces. Let me know what you find! An accept is always appreciated, along with feedback, and Im always happy to continue to help, regardless of accept status! Thanks Nick.
there is only one AC pressure switch on the AC lines i did not see the other one and there under the hood thare are 3relay for fans if i unplug them then the fan dont run but then the engine starts over heating and in the fuse box in driver side door there is a fue only no relay i even put al the new relay for the fans but still no luck. where is the second AC pressure switch i dont see it?
On the compressor, but dont worry about it if the front of the compressor is standing still when the a/c is off, also, disconnect one relay at a time, and the one that shuts off the fan (with a/c off), turn the car off, and swap it with a similar one, let me know what happens. Thanks Nick.
if the AC is of the clutch dont engage AC work fine when i turn it on i have to take 2 relay out then the fans stop working one stop one fan and other relay stop the other fan i did swap the relay with the same relay but then fan start again.
Okay, thats great, you have given me very valuable information. Technical info: You have verified that you do not have a stuck relay, and wires to your fan, and your fan itself is not at fault. Your A/C system is not giving false information to turn your fan on, and is working properly. You have a problem between your fuse junction box and control module. Real info: Give me a little bit to research what exactly controls the fan operation, what module it is, and exactly where it is located, you obviously have a control problem, possibly a stuck transister in your PCM that is commanding your fan/fans on all the time. Trust me, Thanks Nick. (give me atleast fifteen minutes to half an hour, calling a GM specialist right now)
i will be wating if you solve this you get the $28.00that i have in m,y account .
I have the answer for you now, and you will probably not like it. The PCM is the module that controls your cooling fan circuit, and the transister is stuck closed (think of it as a switch in your computer) It is important to know that your gauge does read correctly (does not show any signs of overheating while fan running) A PCM (powertrain control module, also called a "brain" or "computer" or "ecm") is the main control device that controls your fan operation, and sends voltage to your fan control relays, which above have determined they are good. In simple terms, you need to replace you pcm "Customer", and I gaurnentee this will fix your vehicle. Tip: save some money, and pull out your phone books, and call local wreckers to see if they have a car like yours, and a camaro, same year and trans type, will work as well, see if they have a pcm for you. Although you are buying a used PCM, it is extremly rare that they fail, and unfortunetly in your case, yours did, so don't be timid about buying a used one, I would if it was my trans am (nice car by the way). If not, the dealership is the place to go. An accept is always appreciated, along with feedback, and Im always happy to continue to help, regardless of accept status! Thanks Nick.
