What do you do if fume is coming into your vehicle and their is no leak under the vehicle, meanwhile you get headache from the fume/odor?
Year: 1996Make: ChevroletModel: cavalierEngine: 2.2 Already Tried: check around gas tank, exhaust system, muffler, and under hood but fume /odor cause headache.

You have to make sure the muffler tail pipe is at least even with the body of the car so it wont go under the undercariage. I personnally think you have an exaust manifold leak can you check your donut gaskets from exaust manifold to your pipe.

Thanks Dan

My wife said everytime she drive's the car she get a headache even with windows down are up, so i'm thinking it maybe a muffler leak are something so, i took the car to the muffler shop he put it on the rack and check the muffler, tailpipe and catalyic converter he didnot find any leak, his thought is that fume or odor was coming in around the trunk. Well, no sign of any leak there either.
He means that the tail pipe might not be out far enough to clear the car. I suggest that you ask him to extend your tail pipe so that it has a better chance of clearing the car. Also if there is an oil leak it could burn off under the hood and come through the firewall. Thanks Dan

Hi Danny, i went back under the hood and check the manifold but that was not the problem, i found the low suction side fitting nut was loose causing the fume to escape in side the vehicle.
And where is the suction side at? exaust manifold?danny40074.1478990741
