I have a 97 caravan, low band in trans is shot. can this be replaced while transmision is still in the car. When I had the pan off to change filter I made adhustment and the car had some movement. Thought that maybe there was a way to change band. Don't have a lot of money and would like to fix, if possible, for my daughters to drive as a temp.
Year: 1997Make: DodgeModel: caravanEngine: 3.0 Already Tried: inspected, adjusted transmision band, some improvement not enough to drive on the road.
ok, this has to have 470/670 trans....those rear bands hardly ever give any problems....are you positive.....Thanks Joey
However can tell you whats really wrong.....Joey
You can NOT change this band in car......problem is in your valve body
Low-reverse band has way less than 0.080 in. gap. material on the inside is almost totally gone.
none much in there from the get go...material is very thin, however the steel part of band is thick.....Joey
Have you ever taken a valve body apart ?
just wanted to know if band could be pulled out and a new one manuvered into place
Sorry not possible by design ive built hundreds of them sence they came out ......Im A Master High Trainer & Master Builder......Look at my Profile......Your Problem is The Pressure Regulator and Boost Valve Is Stuck In Valve Body......Happens all the Time
how do you resolve this?
You Would need to pull the..... Valve Body....Out And Clean and unstick those valves....It will work Fine Then.....JoeyJoe Barfield40070.9239153935
