Year: 2004Make: KiaModel: OptimaEngine: 2.7 Already Tried: I checked all fuses and all were good. Checked power to the ECU no problem found.Noticed when I took fuel line off it sprayed fuel from fuel line. Did not properly release pressure from fuel line before removing fuel pump which might be the problem. How do I pressure up the fuel line ?

My car is a 2004 Kia Optima EX with a 2.7 V-6 engine.
You stated the pump is running do you have pressure in the line?
No I dont have pressure in the line. But I pulled off fuel line and had the ignition switch turned on and the pump was pumping fuel.
Where did you pull off the line to check for fuel?
At fuel pump
Did you remove the pump to try and change the filter? If so did you get the o-rings nack in place?
No, I didn't remove the pump. I just pulled the hole assembly out of the tank and when I didn't see the fuel filter I reinstalled the pump assembly, reconnected lines and wire connector. Tryed to start engine and now it won't start.
If it worked before and doesn't now there has to be a bad connection with the lines at the assembly. The system bleeds itself out so when turning on the key and cranking it the system will pressure up.
