2000 porsche Carrera: 000 miles..filler tank..temp guage..head gasket

Resolved Question:

2000   porsche Carrera 38,000 miles water keeps boiling out the filler tank, temp guage indicates just over half 190- 200     is it common or possible we have a head gasket problem or is there something else We should check?

Very possible for a head gasket problem, go ahead and do a cylinder leakdown test to confirm it, and you may discover it before your testing is done when you pull plugs out and steam is present or plugs show signs of water / ethylene glycol.

do the water pumps on these engines go bad internaly

I haven't seen one with that associated problem, unless the fins on the pump are deteriorated and not pushing the coolant fast enough.
