I'm so so, 2006 chevy silver Z71 with 5.3 l V8 not heavy duty having trouble getting the new pads in the caliper diagram would be nice
Expert:  Mike Kelly replied 4 years ago.
  • Lift truck using your floor jack (use jack stands for safety)
  • Remove rim
  • Remove bottom bolt on caliper using 3/4 inch socket
  • Loosen top bolt on caliper using 3/4 inch socket
  • Now pull caliper and it should swing up
  • Remove old brake pads by pulling ( Only your fingers needed )
  • Install new brake pads
  • Grease back side of brake pads with your choice brake grease
  • Compress pistons with piston comressor
  • Pull caliper back over brake pads
  • Screw in bottom bolt and tighten
  • Tighten top bolt
  • Put your rim back on
  • Follow same instructions for other side I will try to find you a picture.

I've got every thing apart I'm just having proublems getting the new pads into the clips on the outer bracket
Expert:  Mike Kelly replied 4 years ago.
Does your pads have the metal clips on the side or on top of the pads that looks like ears?
    Customer: replied 4 years ago.
    yes
Expert:  Mike Kelly replied 4 years ago.
Ok,i can't seem to locate a picture, they are very tricky, you have to hold the metal clips in the middle with one hand and place caliper down over them with the other, sometimes you have to apply a little pressure.
