I have a 2003 Isuzu Rodeo that has 75,000 miles. I am a slow driver that doesn't accelarate fast. I drove below the speed limit. The vehicle has not been serviced per manufacture schedule over the years. The vehicle has recently while driving or at a stop at idle has just cutoff. I can wait 3-5 minutes or try to turn the 3-4 times and the vehicle starts. I only drive a short distance to and from work (3 miles). Over a 3 week period I have had the vehicle at the dealership 3 times. Originally they replaced the Camshaft Sensor ($400.00). The next day it just shutoff again. I took it bakc and they cleaned the Throttle Plate and Idle controls. Two days later it shutoff again. Each time they checked the vehicle by diagnostics analysis, they claim there is no problem with the codes. Researching recalls I found this 2003 had a vehicle recall in 2005 for the fuel pump, but the recall report doesn't explain what problems this could cause except fuel leakage or possible fire.
Year: 2003Make: IsuzuMake (other): RODEOModel: 2WD, AUTOEngine: V.6 Already Tried: Dealer replaced Camshaft Sensor, cleaned Throttle Plates and Idle controls. No information on whether a new computer module, or wiring harness from module to engine electrical systems have been tested. Prior to the vehicle shutting off the check engine light comes on.
Hi, my name is XXXXX XXXXX sounds like a fuel pump problem, the recall you mentioned deals with a the inlet port leaking fuel, it is only being recalled in Texas and the surrounding 4 states if you live there. You can contact your nearest dealer and see if the recall has been done, if not they will replace the fuel pump for you if you live in one of these states. I will post the recall below.Tim

Service Information
Condition:
Isuzu Motors Limited has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2002-2004 Rodeo, 2002-2003 Rodeo Sport, and 2002-2004 Axiom vehicles when operated with silicon-contaminated fuel. If a vehicle has been operated with silicon-contaminated fuel over a period of time, the resulting electrostatic discharge can cause pin holes to develop in the fuel pump feed port, through which fuel can leak. In some circumstances, a vehicle fire could result.
Isuzu has identified silicon-contaminated fuel in Texas. As a result, Isuzu is recalling the above mentioned vehicles registered in Texas and the four surrounding states: Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
Correction:
Dealers are to inspect and seal the fuel pump feed port. In some cases the fuel pump assembly may require replacement.
Dealer Responsibility
Isuzu dealers are required to service all eligible vehicles at no charge to the owner, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle or ownership.
Whenever a vehicle subject to this campaign is in a dealer's vehicle inventory, or arrives at the dealership for service, the dealer must take the necessary steps to ensure that this campaign correction has been made before selling or releasing the vehicle.
