2003 elantra: my brake light..hyundai..nuts..light assembly

I am having a hard time changing my brake light on my hyundai 2003 elantra. I have taken off the 3 nuts, but still can't get the light assembly off, what do I need to do?

Already Tried:
taken the 3 nuts off the bolts inside the trunk, lamp assembly won't come off. There is a rubber stud on one corner, but unable to do anything with it.

Hi,

 

You have to pull pretty hard to get them out, or a slightly easier way to do it is to thread the nuts onto the studs so that the nuts are flush with the end of the studs. Now place your socket with a extension on the nut and tap gently with a hammer on each one. Remove the nuts and finish pulling the assembly off

 

Hyundai directions:

 

REAR COMBINATION LAMP
1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2.Remove the nuts holding the rear combination lamp.
3.Disconnect the connector and remove the lamp assembly.

4.Installation is the reverse of removal
