I added a bit of 134 A because my car was not cooling Now the compressor clutch cycles for only an instant and remains off for a long time . What should I look for next
<p>To know what's going on in the system you should use a high side and low side gauge set. Otherwise you'd just be going on a hunch or guessing what's wrong. If you added too much refrigerant, the pressures may grow too high, causing high side pressure switch to cut power to the compressor. Of course, same happens in case of a low charge. Drawing the wrong conclusion from the limited information available would steer you deeper into the unknown and cause aggravation!</p><p> </p><p> Some cheap refill kits come with a gauge, that would at least indicate "good", "low" and "high" charge on the low side. That would be better than nothing. </p>

Please tell me what the pressures should be This is an 01 Isuzu truck I may have put too much R134A in it
My problem ended up being this problem The hot & cold water valve was stuck in hot posisition and I was getting warm air through the air conditioning vents When I added more 134A it stopped working because it became overcharged and the heater was working full blast. First I had to fix the hot water valve tempature valve then I had to remove some 134A to get the compressor to work (too much Pressure ) It works fine now .. I was unaware that too much pressure would stop the compressor from working . Not sure if you will ever use this information on another job but here it is . Don
