I have, since new, a 2003 MB SL55 AMG. In 2005 I put on a set of Asanti custom 3 piece wheels. At that time I didn't think about the tire pressure monitor, and since then my TPM keeps popping up on my dash, "to re-calibrate". Since my installer will be changing out the tires in a couple weeks he told me he could install the proper MB tire pressure monitors on each wheel but the dealer will need to calibrate. Is this possible? Looking forward to your reply, Thank you, Ned Brown XXXXX Osprey, FL 34229 XXX-XXX-XXXX
Yes it is possible to swap out the tire pressure monitors into your aftermarket wheels. In fact I have it done in my car. You might not even need to bring it to the dealer to have the calibrated. There should be a way to initalized the learning of the tpm sensors. Check you owners manual. Or simply call the dealer.
