The gas light is on in my father's car. It's a 2006 Nissan. Why is that light on?
HiCustomer
I believe that is a low fuel light, and if that's the case, then the fuel level sensor in the fuel tank is either out of adjustment or defective. Now, if this car is a flex fuel car, then that could mean that it is not recognizing the E85 or the regular fuel correctly.
Thanks for your question and positive feedback,
Ron
I'm really trying to fix a problem. What should I do?
If it's not a flex fuel car, then the fuel tank needs to come donw to check the fuel level sensor. You haven't stated yet whether it is or not.
Thanks again,
The car was not available when i contacted you. My father is bringing the car to me to go through the manual for the car. I will get back to you if you can give me a few minutes.
If it's a flex fuel car, it will say it on the car somewhere, it's an advertisement for Nissan too.
Thanks again for your support,
My dad says that this is a flex fuel car. What should I do?
The car needs to be scanned with a scan tool to check validity of the flex / regular fuel sensors and see what the PID values are. Then if a sensor needs to be replaced, this will tell you where to look next.
