I have a 1996 hyundai automatic that when the engine gets warm the motor cuts out. I have tried replacing the coil pack but that made no difference. Do you have any suggestions?

hi oscarrarbbit, it is mostlikely that your crank position sensor is faulty, what happens is, when the sensor heats up ,it causes an open circuit and signal cuts out to the computer and in turn the computer shuts the motor off ,untill it cools down and completes the circuit once again

thanx

one more thing, does this vehicle have a distributor?

Customer replied 1024 days and 3 hours ago.

no there is no distributor, just coil packs. The engine is fuel injected.

ok the crank sensor is located on the rear of the bell housing, which is a weird spot for it , usually they are located right next to the crank pulley. I would have the shop do it, to avoid any unforseen problems.
thanx
joe
