gt: chev..replaced fuel..fuel pressure regulator..5 mins car starts

Resolved Question:

99 chev cav 2.2. must push footfeet to the floor to gt it to start, sound like engine is flooded, replaced fuel pressure regulator. Shut cat off and restart in 5 mins car starts like normal. Let car sit for 45mins check vacumn line and no fuel in line.

This problem is kinda common on these cars. It is in the injectors. You can try taking it and having a injector de-carb done also called a motor-vac. Make sure it is a injector de-carb not just a fuel service. They will actually dis-enguage your fuel pump and run the vehicle on the cleaner. This makes sure that the cleaner goes directly thru the injectors. A fuel service they ad a cleaner to your tank and run a cleaner thru the air intake which cleans the intake and valves but does not go thru the injectors. The tank additive goes thru but is not strong enough to clean them good. This will usually take care of the problem. If not you may have to replace the injectors.
