1995 chevy camaro 3.4L 160K miles. car lacks power, especially

Resolved Question:

1995 chevy camaro 3.4L 160K miles. car lacks power, especially in fourth gear with tcc engaged above 45 mph. trans mech says its the engine, not the tran. sure enough, cylinder balance test fails on cylinder 4. disconnect idle air control then start engine, idles at 2200 rpm. shut off engine. disconnect each wire at the coil. rpms drop to about 2100 on every cylinder except cylinder 4 where it drops to about 1600 rpm. put a new coil pack on cyl 4, swapped wires and plugs between cly 4 and cyl 2, replaced the fuel injector in cyl 4. problem has not changed. its as if cylinder 4 is overcontributing or the other 5 cylinders are all undercontributing. what's left ? the ignition module, the rings and and the valves ? BTW, put in all new valve lifters, wires and plugs about two months ago. problem started after that.
