Resolved Question:

1. How serious is a leaky intake manfold gasket?
2. If I don't fix the leaky gasket would it be a waste of time
    to do a complete tuneup?
3. Would it be a waste of time to do a radiator flush.

The problem is that the car is over heating.

Very serious if leaking coolant as the vehicle can over heat and cause major engine damage.
