1989 saab 9000: good condition, running fine..quits..sputter..restart

This answer was rated:

I have a 1989 SAAB 9000CD, good condition, running fine, except...
I may be driving for awhiile, when the engine quits without warning, no sputter. Soon as it stops, I can restart and keep on going for rest of trip without problem.   Quitting is random. I do not suspect fuel pump.   I think the problem is more electrical than fuel related.    I believe there is a Hall Effect Sensor in the distributor and there is an ignition module on the fender. Is there a place to get these kind of parts?   Might there be other ideas of problem?   Wiring seems to be secure.

HiCustomer

Thos ecpmponents should be avialable still at a Saab dealer. Here's where that part is located for you, and it's the most common problem too.

Thanks for your question and positive feedback,

Ron
