1999 Boxster: chatter..the clutch went completely out

Customer Question

There was chatter in my 1999 Boxster when I depressed the clutch. Shortly thereafter the clutch went completely out. What is the problem and how much will it cost to repair?

Thank you,

Ok sounds like the clutch disc is completley worn ,you will need to replace the clutch ,pressure plate bearing and depending if there are stress cracks on the fly wheel it will need to be resurfaced this will be the correct way as long as the pedal is still solid, will cost around 700to 1000 depending on shops parts and labor
