2001 mitsubishi eclipse: blower motor..the engine gets over 2000 rpms

Customer Question

My 2001 mitsubishi eclipse has a problem with the a/c. The blower motor works but, the a/c won't get cold until the engine gets over 2000 rpms. The high and low side pressures are the same (100 psi at idle and 50 psi at 2000 rpms). Is this an expansion valve problem? Also the cruise control comes on with the steering wheel switch but will not set at any speed. The linkage is on and the fuses are o.k.

HelloCustomer if the pressure on both the high and low side are the same then it is usually a problem with the compressor and not the expansion valve. As for the cruise control, if it will not set then you may have a problem with the vehicles brake switch.
