ok thanks. i think i know the answer to my next question but - where is the steering column filler panel - and should I be worried about the air bag deploying?
Expert:  KBB replied 7 years ago.
Let find the information you need so i can post it for you. I will be back shortly.
Expert:  KBB replied 7 years ago.

The steering column filler panel is below the steering column and at knee level. As far as the air bag going off you should be fine but if your worried you can remove the sir fuse located in the fuse panel.
