what are the timing marks on a 2.4 dohc kia optima
Optional Information: 2002 Kia optima 2.4 DOHC Already Tried: I am trying to fix what some one else started and want to make sure the timing is right before I put new belt on, the cam marks dont look right

on the crank shaft sprocket tiing mark is that when number 1 is at top dead center
See the red marks on the graphic?The TDC mark is a cut out on the back plate of the gear that lines up with a mark on the block just under the tensioner. You can also find the TDC by removing the number one spark plug and placing a long instrument in the hole. When the instrument is at its highest point you have achieved TDC. The marks on the crank timing gear should be clearly visible.
