The fuel temperature sensor is located on the fuel pump assembly in the gas tank. This is probably a dealer only item and not that expensive. Could not find a picture of it but it is about the size of a pencil eraser with a wire and plug connector. I have replaced many of these.
You will have to remove the carpet mat from behind the front seats. There is a trap door in the floorboard which needs to be removed. (Phillips screws) There you will find the fuel pump assembly. Use LOTS of WD40 to loosen the retaining screws because of age and rust. If you break these screws you will have to replace the gas tank. Take your time with this and use caution.
Hope this helps.
First of all thank you for the accept.
No need to drop the tank. The whole assembly comes out of the top.
Remember, take your time and don't break the screws.
