Does it happen even if the truck is in a heated environment? Gow plugs would only be a cold engine issue. You seem to have a case where the fuel system is losing prime. Can you try priming first to see if it starts right up? Pressure testing the fuel system would also help in finding a leak. The smallest leak could cause a loss of prime, even a leak too small to cause a drip
