Has the replacement bottle failed? Is the engine running hot?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
The replacement bottle failed in the exact spot as the first but the enhine is not running hot.

The two items that will need to be checked are the pressure cap, make sure it is releasing the prssure at the specified PSI as indicated on the cap. This needs to be tested with a radiator/pressue cap tester. The other thing to check,is the tank being stressed when it is mounted to the truck, causing it to crack in the same area.graphic

Not sure if I mentioned that the expansion tank is separate from the radiator and connected by 3 hoses and the tank itself is is what is leaking. Also not sure if the cap to the expansion tank (bottle) is pressurised

Hi, the tank is under pressure the same as the rest of the cooling sytem, it is not just an overflow bottle as was used on older model cars. If the pressure is going to high, the tank can crack since it is the weakest part in the system.
