Hello and thank you for choosing Just Answer!

Just need to know if your Vibe is an All Wheel Drive model?

Customer: replied 8 years ago.
It's a FWD.

Here are the instructions for chaging the transmission. This is an 8.0 jour job in a shop.

Thanks so much for your help. We were hearing a bearing noise at first, then the transmission froze up while being driven. Do you think it's shot completely?
Expert:  ase_master327 replied 8 years ago.
Are you sure it isn't a brake?

Well botXXXXX XXXXXne, if it's seized, it's seized. Not that much can be done about it.

Customer: replied 8 years ago.
It won't stay in second gear. It can be driven, but it just siezes at random times, so obviously, we aren't driving it. Going to pull out the transmission and see if it is a bearing or the whole transmission needs to be replaced. Car only has 66000 miles on it.

While is certainly not normal for the transmission to just seize at any time...

Nor is it normal for it to jump out of gear. I would have to say this one is definately bad.
