96 Continental: driver door..warning..interior lights come

I have a 96 Continental   driver door open warning comes on when door is obviously closed I cant seem to figure out where the activation point for the door is on the body.Very frustrating when the interior lights come on when I stop at night.

Hi, the switch is located inside the door latch mechanism. You may be able to repair the problem by spraying the latch with WD 40, as shown in the photo.Opening and closing the door sharply a few times usually gts the switch to free up.
