Can the natural aspirated Isuzu 4JB1 be converted to 4JB1T (turbo) ?
Optional Information: 1995 Isuzu Already Tried: Try to install RHF5 VICC Turbocharger and I'm trying to install intercooler
HelloFirst question do you know how much boost pressure the turbo'd engine makes? If its more than 6-7Psi its unlikely that the noramlly aspirated engine will last very long with the turbo suddenly bolted to it. Turbo engines usually have low compression ratios to compensate for the extra cylinder pressure produced by the turbo. They also tend to have stronger pistons and better cooling. If its low pressure ( sub 6psi) installation then you will get away with it although bear in mind you'll need the turbo ECU or fuel map, boost sensor, ignition system. As a cheap upgrade if you can get all the parts required it should work, just bear in mind my comment about boost pressure. It may be simpler to replace one engine with the otherBest of luckMattIf this advice has been helpful please use the accept function
