1996 Saab 900: srs and warning light to come..by removing a fuse

Resolved Question:

I recently caused the srs and warning light to come on my 1996 Saab 900 by removing a fuse (I think), and have not done anything else to the car. Is there a reset for this that I can perform? Thank you so much.

Hello,

You will probably have to have it hooked up to a scan tool to have it reset. You used to be able to reset these with undoing the battery but 1994 and newer cars made it where it had to be reset manually with a diagnostic scan tool. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Does it require a special scan tool or will one from the autoparts store suffice?

Or do I need to go to a dealer?

Well I would go to an autozone if there is one close. They will read it for you and erase it for free. But they don't have an advanced computer just the scan tool, but I think it should work for what you need. Hope this helps.

Thanks,
