Hi,

Are you trying to replace the engine fan, or the climate control blower motor fan?

Hi,

Ok, here are directions to remove the fan:

Remove fan shroud:

After removing the shroud, you are ready to remove the fan. Depending on whether yours is early or late model, there are 2 different fan and fan clutch styles.

Late model style with large fan clutch nut( special fan clutch tools required-available at all parts stores):

  • Remove the fan clutch assembly in a counterclockwise direction using a fan clutch wrench.
  • Remove the fan clutch assembly from the vehicle.
  • Remove the fan blade mounting bolts.
  • Remove the fan blade from the fan clutch.
  •

    Early model style:

    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2. Remove the upper radiator shroud and, if desired for additional clearance, remove the radiator from the vehicle.
    1. Remove the fan assembly attaching nuts, then remove the fan assembly from the engine.

Some vehicles use a spacer between the fan and the water pump pulley. If used, be sure to retain the spacer for installation.

    1. If necessary, the clutch may be removed from the fan by removing the attaching nuts or bolts (as applicable).
