what do i do when my 2002 pontiac grand am se ran out of gas. we pushed to the side. we gas in it and now it wont start?

HelloCustomer If the vehicle actually ran out of gas, all you would need to do is add a few gallons of gas for it to start, there is no "reset" or anything like that. If you did that, and it still wont start, there is another problem. Fuel pumps are a common failure on these vehicles. See if you can hear the pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key to the run (not start) position. If not, try banging on the fuel tank with a mallet or hammer, sometimes this will cause the pump to come in.
