2000 subaru outback: rig..ecm on instrument panel..grounding

Resolved Question:

Hi I have a 2000 subaru outback and installed a Ham rig however am picking up rfi on higher bands in receiving, and appears to be coming from ecm on instrument panel. Have searched internet for an answer on how to shield but to no avail. I have tried grounding procedures but no effect.Would appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks in advance, Henry Ellenbogen

You may need to wrap the instrument cluster wiring with a shield or wrap a ground strap on the harness to the ECM.The installation of a EMI/RFI filter may be necessary to stop your problem. This web site carries all types of filters.
