1996 Chrysler Sebring: convertible..000 miles..New cooling fan

This answer was rated:

I have a 1996 Chrysler Sebring JXi Convertable 109,000 miles. Had an overheat condition resulting in majot repairs. New cooling fan,new water pump, new oil pump. After 500 miles my oil light goes on at engine idle. slight engine rev up does not correct the problem. spent a lot of money with poor results. Is it possible the oil sending unit may be faulty{replaced twice} or is it possible thenew oil pump is at fault.

Hello and thank you for choosing Just Answer.

If the light is coming idle it is very likely that either the oil pump is bad. I would strongly suggest that you have someone do a oil pressure test on the car to find out if the pump is still bad.
