Resolved Question:

I have a 2000 Ford Windstar SE, 3.8L engine. The speedometer is stuck in the 120 MPH position, the tachometer is acting erratically and the temp gauge rises all the way to the "H" position. Please advise what the problem could be.

you problem is simply that you need a new instrument gage cluster. these gages have been giving ford and gm a problem for a long time and the 2007 and2008 models are doing the same thing, gages are erratic or stuck past 60mph. cluster usually cost about $295 to 395 and about $150 to install and program. good luck, i hope i helped and please accept if satisfied. thanks. T-man - sinse this a on going problem with the instrament gage cluster in Ford/GM vehicles, do you know of any recalls from Ford/GM concerning this matter?
Expert:  Tristan Franklin replied 8 years ago.

gm has recalled only gmc trucks and suv's from 2002 and 2004 models only. but i have not seen a recall or TSB on the ford windstar, but if you like you could send me your VIN# XXXXX will see if you have any recalls that pertain to your particular vehicle. i hope i helped and please accept if satisfied. thanks T-MAN
