2005 Mazda Tribute: I had low oil but no indicator, what gives?

Thanks for using Just Answer

One explanation is that the oil pressure did not get low enought to turn the light on. This is probably what happened. You could have a bad oil pressure sensor, but I'm guessing that there was still plenty of oil in the engine to keep the light from coming on.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Reply to Not a mechanic, a Technician's Post: Actually, Mazda is telling me that the engine is blown due to no oil and it won't be covered by the warranty
Expert:  CarQuestionGuy replied 8 years ago.
Does your engine not run?
I didn't know that the engine was blown. This would have changed my answer.
There obviously was a problem with the sensor or wiring if there was no oil at all in your engine.
Was there a huge leak or did someone not put any oil back in after changing it? Can you give me more infot here please?

Thanks

Reply to Not a mechanic, a Technician's Post: can you verify that Mazda Tribute does have a sendor that would alert the owner of low oil pressure, thanks for time

Yes it does. I don't know of any car that doesn't.
